Hedvig Wallin Designs New Print Pack

A year ago, Holdit launched its innovative Print Pack, a product that promotes sustainability by offering customers the opportunity to swap out the pattern on their phone case instead of buying a new one. Now, they are launching Pink Breeze, a Print Pack featuring three unique designs created by the Gothenburg-based illustrator and graphic designer, Hedvig Wallin.

Despite Holdit being a manufacturing company, they are deeply committed to environmental responsibility and work relentlessly to minimize their impact across the entire value chain. The Print Pack, made from 100% recycled PET, offers a more eco-friendly and stylish way to change the look of your phone case. The product is best combined with the Wavy Case, which has a transparent back, and is a thin film with a printed design that is placed between the phone and the case

Previously, the Print Pack was offered in sets of three identical patterns in different colors. Now, Holdit is evolving the concept and launching a Print Pack with three unique patterns, giving customers the opportunity to completely transform and personalize their phone case. What makes this product particularly exciting is not just its simple way to refresh the look of your phone, but also the opportunity to collaborate with external creatives to design exclusive patterns that make each case even more unique.

This time, Holdit has teamed up with Hedvig Wallin, an illustrator and graphic designer from Gothenburg, known for her playful and detailed style. She blends techniques such as ink, pencil, watercolor and digital elements to create art with a personal and handcrafted feel. Ahead of the Pink Breeze launch, we get an inside look at Hedvig's artistic process, her choice of materials, and the inspiration behind the new patterns.

    Get to know Hedvig:

Hi Hedvig! Tell us a bit about yourself. Who are you?

    - Hi there! I’m an illustrator and graphic designer from Gothenburg. My illustration career started at 18 with various children's book projects. Children’s books are still something I illustrate, but I also work on many other fun projects, such as editorial illustrations, murals, labels, posters, and now phone cases!

How would you describe your art?

    - I’m greatly inspired by naive art, with its childlike simplicity in both expression and technique. My style is playful, with lots of details and a twisted perspective. I hope my art makes people happy and sparks some imagination and curiosity in the viewer.

How do you create your art? What tools and materials/paints do you use?

    - It’s a mix of many different techniques, like pencil, ink, watercolor, and digital work. I usually start by painting several images by hand, then scan them into the computer, where I combine everything and make adjustments, like fixing colors and correcting small mistakes. For the phone case illustrations, I mainly used watercolor to achieve the right feel.

What’s the inspiration behind these prints?

    - I wanted to create a handmade feeling with watercolor in the designs, which gives a soft and charming expression. The colors blend naturally, and there’s such a lovely texture in the details from the watercolor. The pastel color palette and the cute elements felt perfect as we’re finally approaching summer!

    What’s your favorite?

    - It’s so hard to choose! I’ll probably switch the print on my phone case every day because I can’t decide. But I think I’ll start with the fruit pattern. It makes me happy with its lovely pink shades and all the details!
