Our Goals

Planet.

We’ve categorized our goals into three segments: people, planet, and product. In this report, we detail the outcomes of our efforts across these key areas. 

Goal 1 : Reduce our scope 3 emissions with 7% from year to year by 2030.

In 2022, we reduced our carbon emissions by 25% due to improved calculations involving recycled materials across 11 categories. However, in 2023, geopolitical events disrupted our transportations in a large scale and we made an increase on 5% on our Scope 3 emissions. While geopolitical events are hard to calculate, we are still resolute in our commitment to minimizing our carbon footprint for the future. 

Goal 2 : Climate compensate our entire carbon emission by 2025.

We are currently compensating for all our transportations. We will continue to do so year to year and in 2025, our aim is to compensate the full emission. 

Goal 3 : Set and implement an internal activity plan focusing on sustainability.

Internally, we’ve implemented a plan encompassing both smaller activities and full-day sustainability focus sessions for everyone in the office. 

Goal 4 : Continue to contribute to our chosen SDG goals during 2023.

Every day, we work towards our chosen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ingrained in the mindset of each and every employee. 

Goal 5 : Reduce our CO2 emissions per sold product by 10%

Unfortunately, we didn’t meet this year’s goal. Increased air freight, driven by disruptions in the Red Sea and Houthi rebel activities, led to longer shipping routes and reduced sea freight volumes. The goal is important to us, and we will take necessary measures to get as positive of a result as possible for 2024. 

Goal 6 : Donate a part of our profit from holdit.com to an organization focusing on sustainability.

We donated a portion of our profits to Regnbågsfonden who supports LGBTQ+ rights, equality, and human dignity. 

Goal 7 : Join the Science Based Targets, revise target setting and set absolute target for 2030

Our greenhouse gas emission reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). SBTi ensures alignment with current climate science and aims to halve emissions by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. 

Goal 8 : Publicly report the percentage of annual revenue that goes to sustainable initiatives

To be able to give us an helpful status check on where we are we decided to start publishing our percentage spend of turnover on responsibility during 2023. From now on we can easily compare and track what we spend on sustainability compared to our turnover. 

Goal 9 : All vehicles owned by Holdit must be, fully or partly, driven by electricity by 2030

We opt for trains whenever available, gradually transitioning our company vehicles to electric, prioritizing sustainability in our journey towards a greener future. 

Goal 10 : 10% reduction of our CO2 emissions on transportation during 2023.

Goal 11 : Complete and launch an Environmental Policy

We crafted a policy in 2023, set to be implemented in 2024 as it hasn’t been made public within the company until now, ensuring a smooth transition and understanding among all stakeholders. 

Goal 12 : Change to renewable electricity in all of our facilities during 2025

All our Swedish operations now run on renewable energy.
