Which AirPods do I have – and which case fits?

You can find your AirPods model on your iPhone under Settings → Bluetooth. Tap the information button next to your AirPods and look for the model number. Once you know the generation, you can choose a protective cover made for your charging case.
We will help you find the right fit, from model number to protective cover.
How to find your AirPods model number
Open Settings on your iPhone.
Select Bluetooth.
Find your AirPods and tap the information button, i.
Look for Model Number.
If your AirPods are not listed, you may need to pair them first. You can also find the model number on the underside of each AirPod. It starts with the letter A.
Which generation of AirPods do I have?
Compare your model number with this list:
AirPods 1: A1523, A1722.
AirPods 2: A2032, A2031.
AirPods 3: A2565, A2564.
AirPods 4: A3053, A3050, A3054.
AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation, ANC: A3056, A3055, A3057.
AirPods Pro 1: A2084, A2083.
AirPods Pro 2 with a Lightning charging case: A2931, A2699, A2698.
AirPods Pro 2 with a USB-C charging case: A3047, A3048, A3049.
AirPods Pro 3: A3063, A3064, A3065.
These numbers refer to the earbuds. The charging case has its own model number. You can also find pictures and charging case details in Apple’s guide to identifying your AirPods.
Protective cover or charging case – what is the difference?
When shopping for an AirPods case, it helps to distinguish between two products:
The charging case is the case you use to store and charge your earbuds.
The protective cover fits around the outside of the charging case. These are the AirPods cases you will find at Holdit.
A protective cover does not replace a lost charging case. It adds an outer layer to your existing case and gives it a more personal look.
Which case fits my AirPods?
Start with the model listed in the product name. Then check the product information for details about the version and features.
Cases for AirPods 4
If you have AirPods 4, look for a protective cover labelled for AirPods 4. Also specify whether you have the ANC version when checking compatibility or contacting customer service.

Cases for AirPods Pro 1 and 2
Some protective covers are designed for more than one generation. At Holdit, for example, you will find the Solid Silicone Case Butter Yellow labelled AirPods Pro 1&2.
That label applies to this specific protective cover. It does not mean that all covers or charging cases are interchangeable between the two generations.
Cases for AirPods Pro 3
If you have AirPods Pro 3, choose a cover explicitly labelled for that model, such as the Solid Silicone Case Butter Yellow for AirPods Pro 3.
Read the full model name before choosing. AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro 3 are different models.
Cases for older AirPods
Have AirPods 1, 2 or 3? Look for your generation in our AirPods case range and check the current product information. Do not choose a cover for a different model simply because it looks similar.
What to check before choosing a case
Once you have identified your model, check the details:
Model: Does the product’s model label match your AirPods?
Version: Are there specific details about ANC, USB-C or Lightning?
Function: Does the information explain compatibility with charging and the case’s openings?
Design: Would you prefer a subtle cover or a colour that is easy to spot in your bag?

Frequently asked questions about AirPods cases
Do all AirPods covers fit every model?
No. Choose a protective cover that explicitly lists your model in the product information. Two charging cases looking similar does not confirm that the same cover will fit.
What does AirPods Pro 1&2 mean on a cover?
It means that this specific protective cover is designed for the first and second generations of AirPods Pro. Not every product labelled AirPods Pro automatically fits both.
Do I receive a new charging case when I buy a cover from Holdit?
No. Our protective covers fit around your existing charging case. Earbuds and charging case are not included.
Can I charge wirelessly with the cover on?
Check that both your charging case and the protective cover support it. For example, our Solid Silicone Case for AirPods Pro 1&2 supports wireless charging. A protective cover cannot add wireless charging to a charging case that does not have the feature.
